Since I started living in a coastal town, I've become acutely aware of the severity of the marine litter problem. On beaches I visited while traveling, and even on those that should be beautiful, trash is now a common sight.

I found myself picking up trash on the beach, but of course, this task never ends. A vast amount of trash, including plastic waste, continuously washes up on the beaches every day, carried by rivers or ocean currents.

Feeling utterly helpless, I thought about getting robots to help with the trash collection. Endless, simple labor is something they excel at.

I want to create robots that carefully pick up each piece of trash, rather than gathering everything along with the sand, to avoid harming the creatures living in the natural beach environment.
